In 2021, we embarked on an eco-design initiative for our facilities in Sainte-Luce-sur-Loire. The installation of 586 solar panels by Solewa represents a significant step forward in our commitment to a more sustainable future.
These panels enable us to produce around 21,000 kWh per month. Part of this electricity, an average of 10,700 kWh per month, is used to cover the needs of our 3,000 m² premises, which include offices, the production area, the Research and Development space and the communal areas.
This transition has made us totally self-sufficient in terms of energy. The surplus electricity generated is sold on, enabling us to feed an average of 13,473 kWh per month back into the electricity grid.
Denis Mourrain, CEO France of LivingPackets, emphasizes the importance of this approach: ‘The design of our building had to reflect our values and our vision of a future where innovation does not go hand in hand with pollution. Thanks to our investment in these solar panels, we are minimizing our environmental footprint, which is equivalent to avoiding around 57 tons of CO2 emissions per year*. This is equivalent to canceling 32 return flights between Paris and New York City**’.
This approach embodies our ongoing commitment to a more sustainable future and is perfectly in line with our global strategy in favor of the environment. As pioneers of re-use with our innovative products, we continually seek to integrate environmentally friendly practices into all stages of our business.
