Today's rapidly evolving logistics sector is facing new challenges.

In these two articles, we look at whether new technologies are the new solutions for the logistics sector. #1

Digitalization

Faced with the problems of packaging, cost and last-mile delivery, logistics has to rethink itself and become traceable and connected.

Before getting into the subject, it's worth understanding what digitalization means. Digitalization refers to the process of converting the processes, operations and activities of a company or sector to digital formats and tools.

In the field of logistics and road transport, digitalization is making it possible to offer a more flexible, faster service and to diversify delivery options to meet consumer needs.

Delivery services

New delivery methods are constantly emerging to meet customer expectations. This is reflected in the emergence of delivery services in under 30 minutes, made possible by the use of drones, robots and autonomous vehicles.

Now the big players in the market, such as Monoprix and Uber Eats, are offering an ultra-fast delivery service.

"Thanks to the extension of our partnership with Uber Eats, we are once again expanding our range of e-commerce services to facilitate ultra-fast delivery of everyday groceries," says Diane Coliche, Executive Director of Monoprix, with pride. "We are responding to a new way of consuming for our urban customers," she continues

More and more companies are also adopting these solutions to meet new challenges. Warehouses themselves are also being affected by this transformation. They are being modernized, automated and connected to third-party applications to efficiently manage docks and on-site entry/exit.

The use of Artificial Intelligence is playing a key role in the digitalization of warehouses. In addition, the development of Web 3 and blockchains will also bring new infrastructure technologies to reinforce this transformation.

Logistics 2023 is already embracing new technologies and digitalization, such as Big Data, machine learning and robotisation. These technological advances all have a common goal: to increase productivity, improve efficiency, reduce errors and deliver greater customer satisfaction.
