Zoom on THE BOX Pro

At LivingPackets, our commitment to sustainability and environmental protection is at the heart of our business. In this article, we explain how our recycling process enables us to extend the life of our products while reducing our environmental impact.

Our material: Expanded Polypropylene (EPP)

Our products are made from expanded polypropylene (EPP), a polymer combining plastic and air. This material offers a number of advantages:

  • Light: the presence of air in the EPP structure reduces the overall weight of our products.
  • Environmentally friendly: 100% recyclable, EPP helps to minimise our carbon footprint.
  • Durable: Its robustness and insulating properties guarantee a long service life.
Focus on our product THE BOX Pro

We chose EPP for its superior properties compared to other biodegradable materials.  It improves both the manufacture and recycling of our products.

  • Optimum protection: We use EPP to cover the outside of our products, protecting them from impact and wear.
  • Internal strength: EPP is injected into the internal components to ensure extra strength.

The key stages in our process

We are able to recycle up to 78% of EPP to create new products and recondition essential components.

  1. Collection and Dismantling: At the end of their useful life, our products are collected for dismantling and recycling.
  2. Processing of EPP: The material is shredded, washed and dried before undergoing extrusion to produce new plastic granules.
  3. Production of New PP: The granules are sent to manufacturers to create new polypropylene parts.
  4. Component Reconditioning: Components such as integrated shelves are repaired and reused for a second life.
